Steve Emery

I am Steve Emery from London, in the UK. I have worked in the printing industry as a typesetter and also spent time travelling over the world solo, as an independent backpacker. I went to university as a mature student and obtained my BA degree in Cultural Studies. After this, I was employed in a variety of jobs, including advice work and counselling, before I returned to university and obtained my PhD in Citizenship and the Deaf Community and group rights from the University of Central Lancashire. I have undertaken numerous research projects, two examples being Genetics and Deafhood, and Mental Health in the Black and Ethnic Minority community.I have also lived in Colombia for some time. My research interests are broad and include political theory and the political philosophy of social change.
